The general settings page lets you configure the Appointment Status Group, and No Show and Cancellation Fee settings.

To configure the general settings of the diary, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Diary > General Settings.
Configure Appointment Status Group
The appointment status groups organise individual appointment statuses. These categories appear as tabs in the Dashboard and can be utilised to assign colors to an appointment's block, left margin, or border.
- To configure the settings, click Edit on the top right of the Appointment Status Group section.
- Select the criteria that indicate the following statuses.
- Confirmed Status: Select the statuses that indicate that the appointment is confirmed. Choosing only Confirmed is suggested.
- Unconfirmed Status: Select the statuses that indicate that the appointment is not confirmed yet.
- In Office Status: Select the statuses that indicate that the patient is in the office.
- Pre-Arrival Status: Select the statuses that indicate the patient has started the check-in process but has not yet arrived.
- Choose suitable Colors for the above three statuses to identify them quickly.
- Click Apply after selecting the color.
- Click Save.
Configure No Show & Cancellations
To reduce cancellations and no-shows, you can enable a cancellation fee to charge the patient with a fee when an appointment is cancelled or marked as a No-Show. The user can choose from the cancellation codes to add to the patient account.
- Click Edit in the No Show & Cancellations.
You can specify the timeframe for when a cancelled appointment will be automatically flagged as a short notice cancellation.
- Select the Short Notice Threshold time.
To enable the cancellation fee,
- Select Yes for the 'Enable Cancelling Fee' option.
- Select the No Show Cancellation Codes.
- Click Save.
- Once this configuration is set, the No-Show/Cancellation Fee will apply whenever an appointment is cancelled or updated to No Show with the selected codes.
- Mark as Short Notice Cancellation will be checked by default.
