Let's learn how to access an NHS Patient's Chart and explore some of its functionalities.
To get started!
- Search for the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click the Chart quick link for the intended patient.
On the desired NHS Patient's plan,
- Search for and choose the treatment code from the right.
- Once the treatment is added to the chart, it will be visible in the plan.
- Users can select the payor type from the dropdown.
- NHS is selected by default for NHS patients, but users can switch between NHS and Private.
- Users can also select the payor type at the treatment level. NHS is selected by default for NHS Patients.
Note: Treatment fees may vary depending on the configuration of each payor.
- When a non-NHS code is added to an NHS plan, the treatment will be treated as Private, and the fee will be determined accordingly.
- In that case, the Private Fee Schedule is applied by default, and NHS is greyed out.
- Click the gear icon next to the payor dropdown to mark the treatment plan as Continuation, NHS Referral, or Unscheduled Care.
- Click the circle corresponding to the treatment to mark the code as completed.
- Click Charge to complete the treatment and apply the charge to the ledger.
- Once the treatment is charged, it is greyed out in the plan.
- On the left side of the treatment plan, you will see the Treatment Plan Name, Status, Payor, and UDA.
At the bottom, you will find the NHS Exemptions.
- When an NHS Exemption is applied to the treatment plan, the patient payable is automatically reduced to zero.
On the NHS Exemptions button,
- Click the drop-down to view the exemptions.
- You can also use this to 'Create New Exemption' as needed.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the exemptions.
- Click Payor Summary to review the treatment's Total Charge, Discount, NHS Band details, UDA value, NHS Fee, and the Patient Payable.
- You will see the Patient Payable displayed in the treatment plan.
- Click Submit Claim to open the Claim Submission Form.
On the Claim Submission form,
- You will find the Band, UDA allocated for the treatment done and the Patient Payable on the top-right.
- If the claim is new, you will see a New Claim banner.
- This is followed by a table that includes details such as Date of Completion, Treatment Clinical Data Set, Band, Free Repair and Urgent.
- Providers can submit incomplete treatments for NHS claims. To learn more, click here.
