CareStack supports submitting NHS claims for unscheduled treatments that may have arisen due to emergency situations. NHS refers to these treatments as 'Unscheduled Care'. Let's see how to submit these claims.
To get started:
- Search for the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click the Chart quick link for the intended patient.
On the desired NHS Patient's treatment plan,
- Select Mark as Unscheduled Care from the gear (
) icon to the right of the NHS (payor) label.
- You will find a header added against the Treatment Plan, denoting that it’s an Unscheduled Care.
- This header comprises the Date, Unscheduled Care (Location), Clinician and Patient Payable amount.
- Search for and select the treatment code from the right.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure that the Treatment Code is of Band 1 or 2, and not Band 4.
- NHS has stopped the usage of Band 4 emergency treatments for Treatments performed after April 1st, 2026.
- Once the treatment is added to the chart, it will be visible in the plan.
- Click the circle next to the treatment to mark the code as completed.
- Once the treatment is completed, click Submit Claim to access the Claim submission form.
- Since unscheduled treatments do not contain bands, they appear as Unbanded in the NHS claim.
- When you present, preview, or print an Unscheduled Care treatment plan, the output will include a banner that clearly identifies the plan.
- It also displays Fee, Clinician, and NHS code details, along with the Final Estimate and Total Patient Payable columns.
