The Appointment Flag feature enables practices to create custom flags with a short code and a unique colour to highlight specific appointment requirements for other users.
For example, If the person booking the appointment wants to let the team members know that this patient needs to be assigned to a downstairs surgery, they can add a flag of 'Downstairs patient' to the appointment. Use 'DP' as an appt flag label and description as 'Downstairs patient'.

Create & Manage Appointment Flags
Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Diary > Appointment Flags.
To create a new appointment flag:
Click + Add Appointment Flag.
- Enter the Flag Label to quickly identify the flag.
- Enter the Description to explain the intention of the flag.
- Select the preferred Colour using the colour picker.
- Click Apply.
- The preview of the appointment flag will appear in the Preview column based on the entered information.
- The Status will be shown as Active.
- Click Save.
To deactivate an active appointment flag:
- Select the required appointment flag.
- Click Deactivate.
- Click Ok on the confirmation modal.
To activate an Inactive appointment flag:
- Select the Inactive flag.
- Click Activate.
To edit an existing appointment flag:
- Click Edit on the required appointment flag.
- Make the required changes.
- Click Save.
Configure Diary Settings for Adding Appointment Flags
You need to configure the diary settings for the appointment flags to reflect on an appointment tile in the Diary.
Perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu >select Practice Settings > Diary > Diary Settings.
- Click Edit on the Customisation of Diary Views section.
- Drag the Appt. Flag option from the Diary Block Elements section and drop it on the Diary Block Preview box.
- Position the Appt. Flag (Appointment Flag) option in the desired spot on the appointment tile.
- Click Save.
Assign an Appointment Flag to an Appointment
You can assign an appointment flag to an appointment by performing the steps below.
- Navigate to the Diary.
- Select the required appointment.
- Click + Appt Flag under Appointment Status & Notes.
- Select the required Appointment flag(s).
- Click Save.
- The selected appointment flags will be displayed on the appointment slide-out.
- To update the flags of the appointment, click on the pencil icon.
- Once done, click Save.
The selected appointment flags will be displayed in the following areas:
- On the Appointment Tile if configured on the Diary Settings.
- When hovering over the appointment tile.
