The Compressed View is a collapsable space in the Diary that provides a quicker eagle-eye view of all appointments, blocked slots, and extended working hours in one place. Let's explore the Compressed View feature in the Diary.

Access the Compressed View
- Either select Diary from the top right or access it from the Dashboard on the left.
- The Compressed View slider located above the Surgery Column states 'Drag to show/hide compressed view'. Hover over it to find the Grey Slider icon.
- Click and drag
icon downwards to expand the Compressed View space.

Features of the Compressed View
- Here, you can see all the Surgeries stacked one by one.
The appointments, extended working hours, and blocked slots will be displayed against the respective Surgeries and Time.
Click on the Appointment or Blocked Slot from the Compressed View to quickly navigate to their position in the Diary.
- Click on the white empty spaces on any of the Surgeries to book an appointment.
- The white space indicates the practice can book an appointment in those hours.
- Clicking the white space will open the corresponding slot in the full Diary view.
- Click on Click to Book Appt. (Appointment) to open the Appointment slide-out where you can enter details to book it.
- To Hide the Compressed View from the Diary, click and drag the slider upwards.
Legend for the Compressed View
To view the legend that shows what each colour or texture indicates in the Compressed View,
- Click the Legend icon.
The Compressed View column in the Legend shows the different patterns or colours and what they represent.
- The four different items are:
- Blocked slot
- Outside Working Hours
- Open Slot
- Booked Appt. (Appointment)
Double Booking
Use Double Booking to book multiple appointments in the same time slot.

- Navigate to the Diary.
- Click and Drag on the available space next to the appointment that has been booked.
- On the appointment slide-out that appears, use the Search Patient bar to select the patient.
- Enter the necessary information.
- Click Book Appointment.
- Once the Appointment is booked, you can view it in the Diary.
- Additionally, you can Block Slots with a right-click to the space next to the booked appointments.
In the Block Slot modal,

Enter the necessary information to complete the process.
- Time: Enter the start and end time of the block slot.
- Duration: The time slot’s duration is displayed based on the entered time.
- Provider: Select the clinician for the block slot.
- Surgery: Choose the Surgeries where the blocked slot should apply.
- Block Colour: Choose a colour to quickly identify the blocked slot.
- Recurrence Mode: Choose whether you want the blocked slot to recur One Time, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Block Note: Enter a note to display on the blocked slot.
- Click Block Slot.
Note: If the 'Double Booking' feature is enabled for the account, the Download Error Log option will not appear since users do not have to worry about block slots overlapping with any appointment. |
- Moreover, if you look closely at the Compressed View, you can see a meshed pattern, indicating that there is a double booking.
- While printing an appointment, the double booking and blocked slot will be visible on the printed page.
