Quick Workflow: Clinical – CareStack

Clinical, step by step.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, every workflow begins from the Diary tab.

Log-in details	Web Browser: Google Chrome. URL: your practice URL. Username: your username or email address.
Open diary	Click the Diary icon in the top-right toolbar.
Open dental chart	From the patient tracker, click the patient tile › Chart in the Quick Links to open the chart in a new window.

Check / update medical history	From the chart, select Clinical Summary (top middle). The Medical History tab (bottom left) shows a red sticker when it is outstanding.
Permanent, mixed or deciduous charts	From the chart, select P, M or D (left). P – Permanent (adult dentition) M – Mixed (adult and deciduous) D – Deciduous (child dentition)
Base, mixed or current charts	From the chart, select B, M or C (right). B – Base charting M – Mixed (base, completed and current treatment) C – Current (planned treatment only)
View base chart	From the chart, select the History icon (left of the chart).
View notes / previous medical history	From the chart, select the Notes icon (left of the chart). Migrated medical history is shown here.
View images / X-rays	From the chart, select the Image icon (lower left of the chart).

Add new treatment plan	From the chart, select the +1 icon (lower right of the chart).
Add a treatment plan appointment	From the chart, select at the bottom of the treatment plan (bottom left). Delete, move or discount an appointment from the ellipsis menu (far right).
Select a base code	From the chart, select (bottom right of the chart). Group codes with Service Categories to find them faster.
Select a treatment code	From the chart, select (right of the chart). Use the search bar to find a specific treatment.
Charting	From the chart, select the required Service or Base code › left-click the required surface. Right-click to select multiple surfaces (for example, MOD). Right-click again to remove a surface charted in error.
Send new appointment to Clipboard	From the chart, locate the treatment plan › select › complete the details. Add a note for the front-of-house team in the Clipboard Note field.
Present / send a treatment plan	From the chart, select (bottom right) › Present with Fee Details › Send to Patient.

Complete & charge a treatment	From the chart, tick the circle on the far right of the procedure code line › click Charge (bottom right). Charging cannot be undone. To fix a charted service code, delete the entry and re-enter it.
Add notes	From the chart, select the Link Note icon in line with the relevant procedure code.
Add a prescription	From the chart, select (middle of the top toolbar).
