Let's explore some of the easiest ways to add and delete surface treatments and tooth-level treatments & add treatment procedures to the patient's clinical chart.
Topics Covered
- Add and Delete Tooth Surface Treatments
- Add and Delete Tooth Level Treatments
- Utilise the Treatment Plan Functionalities
Let's get started!
- Begin by searching for the intended patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click the Chart quick link.
In the chart, there are two areas from which procedures can be added:
- Treatment List: All planned treatment procedures are added from the Service List. This section holds every treatment procedure added to the system, and we would be able to categorise the procedures based on the Treatment Category they are assigned to.
- Base: Any pre-existing treatments (that the patient had before they visited your practice) and conditions shall be added from the Base list. Conditions will only be available in the Base section.
Note: The Clinical Chart displays the Patient Balance in red and Unapplied Credits in green on the top right, each as a clickable button linking to the relevant page. |
Search for the procedure code from either of these lists.
- In the Location dropdown, by default the practice user’s logged-in location is selected. This dropdown is prefilled with the user’s default location and limited to their authorised locations.
Add and Delete Tooth Surface Treatments
To add Tooth Surface treatments:
- Select the required tooth surface treatment from the Treatment List on the right.
- Click on the intended surface of the tooth.
- You can click on the other surfaces of the same tooth repeatedly as a series, as required.
Whenever a treatment is added, a toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Treatment added successfully'.
To delete tooth surface treatments:
Click on the highlighted surfaces to delete the treatment that was added.
Whenever a treatment is deleted, a toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Treatment Procedure deleted successfully'.
To add and delete multi-surface treatments,
- Select the required tooth surface treatment from the Treatment List on the right.
- Use a left-click followed by a right-click on the intended surfaces of the tooth to add the treatments to it. This produces a single continuous draw type, while separate left clicks result in non-continuous draw type.
- This action can be used to delete multi-surface treatments.
Add and Delete Tooth-Level Treatments
To add Tooth-Level treatments:
- Select the required tooth surface treatment from the Treatment List on the right.

Whenever a treatment is deleted, a toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Treatment Procedure deleted successfully'.
- You can click and drag to select multiple teeth when applying treatments, such as bridges, surgical extractions, etc.
- These treatments can also be easily removed with a single click or by dragging to deselect.
Utilise the Treatment Plan Functionalities
The newly added treatment procedure codes will appear at the bottom of the corresponding Treatment Plan list.
Furthermore, you could add procedure codes to a sequential Treatment Plan that can be charted as one or more appointments or as stand-alone, one-time treatments.
- At the Appointment level, the overall treatment time is displayed by summing up the total procedure durations, allowing providers to quickly assess the total appointment duration and simplify treatment planning.
- Edits are allowed only at the appointment level and not at an individual code level.
- Click on the pencil icon to update the duration.
When a Treatment Plan is added to the Clipboard, the procedure duration is automatically reflected in the appointment details. Let's explore.
- Click the Add to Clipboard option.
On the Appointment slide-out that appears.
In the Appointment Details section, you can see the Duration auto-populated based on the treatment plan.
When an Appointment is added to the Clipboard, any subsequent updates to the codes within that appointment will be automatically reflected in the clipboard.
For instance, the image below shows three codes that are added to the plan and saved to the clipboard.
On the Scheduler, select Clipboard and click on the relevant appointment tile.
You will find that the clipboard automatically updates the additional codes that are added to the same appointment later.
To delink treatments from the clipboard, click the Delink icon next to 'Added to Clipboard'.
To add a new appointment to an existing treatment plan:
Click + Add Appointment.
You can view the newly added appointment below.
| Note: Right-click the appointment to rename it with alphanumeric or special characters. |
- Click and drag the Appointment to the required position to rearrange the order of appointments.
- When you reorder the treatment plan appointments, it will automatically get renamed.
- If you manually rename a appointment, the custom name will be retained even when rearranged.
- Deleting an appointment will cause subsequent appointment to renumber automatically.
- To add a plan to a Treatment Plan,
- Click the +1 icon on the chart.
- Once a plan is created, users can add the Treatment Procedures Codes to the Plan.
A procedure can be marked as Complete by clicking the checkmark icon beside the procedure. This is reversible.
Note: To create an invoice for the completed procedure, you would have to select Charge Code from the options listed while clicking the 3 vertical dots beside the procedure. |
A Treatment Plan can be marked as Closed, even if it includes completed codes. To perform that,
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Click Mark as Closed.

Any unplanned treatments would be added to the Miscellaneous (Misc) section of the patient’s chart. These procedures are not linked to any treatment plans.
When duplicating or cloning a treatment plan, a new copy of the plan is created for use. To perform that,
- Click on the three-dot menu.
- Select Clone Tx Plan (Clone Treatment Plan).
The custom appointment names that are used in the original treatment plan are retained when cloning a treatment plan.
