In CareStack, an surgery is a surgery room assigned to a clinician for seeing patients. To open a clinician’s diary, the clinician must have an surgery present to be assigned to them.

Add and Manage Surgeries
Note: There are no account-level settings for Surgeries. They are always configured at a location level. |
Perform the steps below to add a new surgery for your office.
Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Locations.
Click on the intended Location.
- Select the Surgery Settings tab.
- Click Edit.
Click + Add Surgery.
- Enter the Surgery Name.
- The surgery can be named using the clinician’s initials or first name (e.g., Dr. A, Dr. B or OP1, OP2), depending on your preference. If a surgery is required for the TCO, you can add a surgery named 'TCO'.
- Select the Surgery Type, whether Billable or Non-Billable.

- Click Save.
- If you want to remove an surgery, click Delete for the intended surgery. Or,
- To bulk-delete surgeries, select the intended surgeries and click Delete on the top-right.
| Note: Surgeries that already have booked appointment slots cannot be deleted. |
To rearrange the order of the surgeries,
Click and move the drag and drop handle to the desired position.
- After making any changes to the Surgery Settings, a toast notification will appear on the top-right stating, 'Surgery Settings Updated successfully'.
Manage Permissions
To enable Permissions for Surgery Settings,
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
- Click Manage Permissions for the intended profile.
- Select Practice Settings.
- Under Location, check the Add/Edit Surgery, and Delete Surgery boxes to enable these permissions.
- Click Save.
