To visit a Patient Overview Page,
- Search for the patient using the global search bar by entering their name, date of birth (DOB), phone number, or email address.
Or,
- Left-click a scheduled appointment tile. In the appointment slide-out that opens, click the quick link next to the patient’s name to open the Patient Overview.
Quick Links
The quick links at the top of the screen are accessible from any page in the patient's profile.
- + Patient: Click this link to create a profile for a new patient.
- + Alert: Click this link to create a pop-up alert for this patient (and set the pages in which the alert should appear).
- + Form: Click this link to start a new form for this patient. This sends the form to the patient portal and to the patient connect in the tablet for the patient to sign.
- + Presc.: Click this link to open this patient's Prescription module, where you can view their current medications, prescription history and create a new prescription (this module also lists the patient's allergies and conditions).
- + Memo: Click this link to quickly add a new patient note (Hint: this feature now lets you add an attachment to your patient note!).
- + Lab: Click this link to create a new lab case for this patient.
- + Recall: Click this link to create a new recall code to be scheduled for this patient.
- + Message: Click this link to quickly send an email or text message to your patient (Hint: make this task even quicker using your preset message templates).
- Print: Click this link to open the Print module, which allows you to select the types of records and information you'd like to print regarding this patient.
The quick links found on the patient's overview page itself (highlighted in the image above) are as follows:
- Find Slot: Click this link to open the diary Slot Finder and schedule an upcoming appointment for this patient.
- Account Appointments: Click this link to be taken to the Appointments page and view appointments for all account members.
- Clinical Chart: As the name states, this link will take you to the patient's dental chart.
- Perio Chart: As the name states, this link will take you to the patient's Perio Chart.
- Tx Plan: Click this link to be taken to the patient's advanced treatment planner.
- Mark for Short Call: For booking appointments for patients who require immediate or short-notice scheduling.
- Payments: Clicking this link will open the patient's Payments module, where you can add, allocate, or view the patient's payments or payment plans.
- Ledger: This link will take you to the patient's ledger, as well as the ledger for the entire account.
- Memo: Click this link to open this patient's Notes module (please note: these are general patient notes, not clinical notes).
Patient Details
Note the items highlighted in the image below. On the Patient Overview page, you will find the following patient details:
- Patient Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Patient ID, Driver's License #
- Patient Flags
- Default Location/Dentist/Hygienist/Fee Schedule
- Preferred Language/Clinician Gender
- Patient Referral Source
- Contact Information/Emergency Contact
Action(s) Required
This section (highlighted in the image below) alerts you to any areas that need your attention, such as in the following instances:
- Documents Pending: Click this link to view any pending documents that need to be finalised.
- Medical History Pending: Click this link to be taken to the Medical History page and start a new form.
- Recall Unscheduled: Click this link to open the diary (with the relevant Provider and Location selected) to schedule the patient's pending recall.
- Next Appointment: Click this link to open the diary to view an upcoming appointment.
Medical Alerts
This section lists any allergies or conditions tagged to this patient (via the answers provided on their medical history form).

Account Summary
This section (highlighted in the image below) lists the family members found on this patient's account, along with the following details:
- The name of the account member.
- Their relationship to the Responsible Party of this account.
- The account member's age and date of birth.
- The date of their last appointment.
- The date of their next appointment.
- Any unscheduled recalls.
- Any monetary credits on their account that remain unapplied towards a balance.
- Any outstanding balances that are owed by the patient.
| Tip: If the patient does not have a scheduled follow-up appointment, click No next appt. to open the diary and book the next available appointment. |
Patient Profile Navigation Bar
Located on the left side of the patient's profile is the navigation bar listing the links that will take you through each page of the patient's records.
- Menu: Clicking this icon will open the patient menu containing links for the most commonly utilised actions.
- Overview: Clicking this icon will take you back to the patient's overview page.
- Med. Alert: Hover over this icon to view any allergies or conditions tagged to this patient (via the answers provided on their medical history form). Click here to know more.

Clinical: Hover over this icon to access a sub-menu of sections related to this patient's clinical care.
- Chart: This link will take you to the patient's dental chart.
- Treatment Planning: This link will take you to the patient's advanced treatment planner.
- Perio Chart: This link will take you to the patient's Perio Chart.
- Treatment History: This link will take you to a page listing this patient's history of completed treatment.

Billing: Hover over this icon to access a sub-menu of items related to this patient's financial status.
- Ledger: This link will take you to the patient's ledger, as well as view the ledger for the entire account.
- Completed Procedures: This link will take you to the section of the patient's profile that details the history of completed treatment for this patient, as well as the status and balances regarding thereof.
- Payments: This link will open the patient's Payments module, where you can add, allocate, or view the patient's payments or payment plans.
- Migrated Transactions: This link will take you to the section of the patient's profile that lists the details of previous transactions migrated from your legacy dental management software (if this information was migrated).

Appts.: Hover over this icon to access a sub-menu of sections related to this patient's previous or upcoming visits.
- Appointments: This link will take you to the patient's Appointments page, where you can view previous and upcoming visits, as well as the previous and upcoming visits for other family members on this account.
- Lab Cases: This link will take you to the section of the patient's profile that lists any lab cases created for this patient -- from here you can also start a new lab case if needed.
- Recalls: This link will open the patient's Recall module, where you can view any existing recall codes on this patient's account or create a new one to be scheduled if needed.
- Pat. Alerts: Clicking this icon will open the Alerts module, where you can view, add, edit, and delete any pop-up alerts for this patient.
- Memo: Clicking this icon will take you to the Notes section of this patient's profile, where you can view existing patient notes (general notes, notes regarding communication, notes regarding appointments, etc.), add comments to the notes, or create a new note.
- Docs.: Clicking this icon will open the Patient Documents module where you can view and upload any necessary documents regarding this patient.
- Med. Hx.: Clicking this icon will take you to the Medical History Form page, where you can view any previously provided medical history answers or start a new Med. Hx form.
Patient Menu
Access the Patient Menu by clicking the icon at the very top-left of the patient's profile.
Quick Links
This section lists shortcuts for the most commonly utilised actions regarding your patient's care:
- Add Payment: Click this link to reveal the Payments module and add/allocate/view (etc.) payments regarding this patient or account member.
- Add Account Member: Click this link to add or edit the family members on this account.
- Add Form: Click this link to start a new form for this patient.
- Add Letter: Click this link to start a new letter for this patient.
- Add Lab Case: Click this link to start a new lab case for this patient.
- Add Prescription: Click this link to reveal the Prescriptions module where you can view this patient's current medications, prescription history and create a new prescription (this module also lists the patient's allergies and conditions).
- Upload Document: Click this link to reveal the Patient Documents module where you can view and upload any necessary documents regarding this patient.
- Add Alert: Click this link to create a new pop-up alert for this patient or account, as well as assign the pages where this pop-up alert should appear.
- Mark for Short Call: Click this link to add the patient to the Short Call Queue.
- Send Email/SMS: Click this link to quickly send an email or text message to your patient (Hint: make this task even quicker using your preset message templates).
- Print Patient Details: Click this link to open the Print module, which allows you to select the types of records and information you'd like to print regarding this patient.

This section provides quick access to the following sections regarding your patient's treatment:
- General Charting: Click this link to go to the patient's Dental Chart.
- Periodontal Charting: Click this link to go to the patient's Perio Chart.
- Treatment Planning: Click this link to go to the patient's advanced Treatment Planner.
- Treatment History: Click this link to go to the section of the patient's profile listing the history of their completed treatment.
- Medical History Forms: Click this link to go to the Medical History Form page where you can view any previously provided medical history answers or start a new Med. Hx form.
Billing
This section provides quick access to the following sections regarding the finances of this account:
- Ledger: Click this link to go to the patient's ledger, as well as view the ledger for the entire account.
- Completed Procedures: Click this link to go to the section of the patient's profile that details the history of completed treatment for this patient, as well as the status and balances regarding thereof.
- System Transactions: Click this link to go to the section of the patient's profile that lists the archives of all transactions completed for your patient in this system (as well as the archives of all transactions completed for all family members on this patient's account).
