Practices can monitor all patient referrals using the Referral Tracker. Let’s explore how to maximise the use of this feature.

Let’s walk you through the two tabs of the Referral Tracker: Overview and Referrals.
Overview Tab
To begin,
Navigate to the System Menu > select Referral Tracker.
- Select the Overview tab.
- This page displays overall insights of referrals according to their statuses, similar to what the referral clinician sees on their end from the Referral Portal.
- Select any of the following tabs to view pre-sorted referrals as needed:
- All Patients
- Received
- Accepted
- Scheduled
- Completed
- Rejected
- Read
Click View Details to view detailed information for a specific referral from this grid.
On the Referral Details Slide-Out:
- Change the Status of the referral, if needed.
- View the Referral Timeline that shows the status change and the impact date.
- To send a message to the referral clinician, enter the message and click the Send Icon.
- This ensures a two-way communication channel between the referral clinician and the practice.
- To attach a document, click the Attach Icon and add the document.

Referrals Tab
- To view the referral details of a patient, select the referred patient from the Patient List on the left.
- The Patient Summary and Attachments of the selected referral will be displayed at the center of the screen.
- To view the referral document, click Download Referral Document.
On the Referrals page:
- Change the Status of the referral, if needed.
- View the Referral Timeline that shows the status change and impact date.
- To send a message to the referral clinician, enter the message and click the Send Icon.
- To attach a document, click the Attach Icon and add the document.
Note: A red dot on any of the referral entries on the Patient List indicates that a message from the referring clinician is unread. |
Manage Permissions

To enable Permissions for Referral Tracker,
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
- Click Manage Permissions for the intended profile.
- Select Referral Tracker.
- Under Referral Tracker, select the Send Referral Chat Messages permission, as needed.
- Click Save.
On the Confirm Action modal that appears, click Yes to proceed.
A toast notification appears on the top right stating, 'Profile updated successfully'.
