Patient Alerts are incredibly useful for you and your staff to recall vital patient information. Let's walk you through the steps to quickly create and edit patient alerts.
Watch this video for a step-by-step explanation.
Let's get started
- Search for the patient using the Global Search bar.
- Click the + Alert quick link. Or,
- Select Pat. Alert (Patient Alert) on the left side of the Patient Overview.
- Click the + Add Alert.
On the Add Alert modal that appears, enter the required information:
- Content: Enter the intended message.
- Priority: Select the priority as Low, Medium, High, or Critical.
- Level: Select whether this alert should appear for the patient only or for all account members.
- Patient: Confirm the patients' names that should have this alert appear on their profile.
- Choose the desired Start Date, then choose an End Date (or Mark as Indefinite).
- Alert Touchpoints: Select the sections of the patient’s profile where the message should appear. For example, an outstanding billing issue should display only in Billing, not Clinical. A documented Lidocaine reaction should appear only in Clinical areas, not in Billing or payment sections.
- Click Save.
- A toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Alert created successfully'.
- The alert will appear when you click the configured touchpoint.
To Snooze or Delete the alert,
- Checkmark the desired Alert(s).
- Click Snooze or Delete, as needed.
Tip: To snooze a notification indefinitely, select Always from the drop-down. |
Note: When an alert is snoozed, it is hidden only for the provider who snoozed it. When an alert is added or deleted, it gets added or deleted for all providers. |
To View or Edit the alerts,
- Click Manage Alerts,
- In the Manage Alerts slide-out, you can view the following columns: Alert Level, Alert Content, Alert Touchpoints, Priority, Start Date, End Date, Snoozed Until (in twelve-hour format), Last Updated by, and Last Updated On.
- If an alert is snoozed by the user, the corresponding Alert Level column will display a Snoozed pill.
- To view how long the snooze will last, refer to the Snooze Until column.
To edit the Alerts,
- Click Edit.
- Update the details as required.
- Modify the Alert Touchpoints to determine the sections in which the patient alert should show up.
- Click Save.
- A toast notification will appear on the top right stating, 'Alert updated successfully'.
